Job Description

For this role, we are looking for people who are passionate to create and deliver an innovative curriculum and provide a transformative learning experience for students.  As a Pedagogy Lead in Chinese, you are passionate in leading and developing your team members while maintaining the highest standards in curriculum creation. At MeeOpp, you will design content for our audience of students and teachers, and manage internal systems to keep them well-functioning.

Responsibilities:

• Take the lead in continuing to plan and implement the Chinese curriculum across International schools and local schools
• Manage, mentor and coach team members
• Assist in recruitment for the pedagogy team
• Develop rich and meaningful assessment tasks and give timely and effective feedback that enhances the team learning experience
• Develop and maintain curriculum documents and oversee pupils’ academic progress within the department
• Ensure that the team is assessed, supported and tracked individually and consistently
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of their expertise in a subject area and in instructional pedagogy
• Develop hands-on, experiential-based learning plans
• Support the team in differentiating learning experiences to ensure that the team is motivated and challenged to meet their potential
• Collaborate with our tech and wider team in enhancing our system to best support students
• QA work for our learning materials and the lessons
• Set and maintain teaching and safety standards for our live, one-to-one instructors
• Deliver on ad-hoc and administrative assignments that help propel our pedagogical initiatives

Requirements:

• Degree in Chinese, Chinese Literature, Education, or other related disciplines
• At least 5 years prior teaching and working with Chinese Curriculum experience from schools (international schools or local schools) exposure would be an advantage  (e.g. teacher, TA, content writer, etc)
• Strong writing and communication skills
• The ability to empathize with the pain points of how students most effectively learn and the workload that the team face
• Comfortable and familiar technology (e.g. Google doc, slide presentations, etc.)
• Creative, takes ownership on initiatives and highly organized
• Passionate about education and technology

Bonus point:

• Good understanding of and experienced in early childhood education (ECE) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
• Curriculum knowledge in these areas for local schools (Pre-S1, TSA, etc) and international schools (IB, IGCSE, ACTFL, etc)

Language requirements:

• Native in Mandarin Chinese or Cantonese
• Proficient in English
