Job Description

About Saint Too Bloom Academy

Saint Too Bloom Academy is a new secondary school in Hong Kong dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship, and bilingual education. Designed by a team of passionate educators, engineers, and entrepreneurs, our mission is to prepare young people to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Since the establishment of our sister school, Bloom KKCA Academy, in 2021, we have pioneered bilingual, interdisciplinary, and project-based learning, forming partnerships across education, business, and social innovation sectors. In 2024, we expanded to our secondary campus, offering Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level programs alongside a school-based Key Stage 3 curriculum. We have since launched two additional pathways—the HKDSE and a US-accredited project-based pathway—to serve diverse learners.

We now invite educators who are passionate about language learning and student empowerment to join us as we build a transformative afterschool English program for emerging bilingual students.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, bilingual educator to develop, design, and teach an afterschool English as a Second Language (ESL) program for students with beginner-level English proficiency (A0–A1 CEFR), primarily from Mainland China. The goal of this program is to help students make rapid and meaningful progress in English communication and academic readiness within one year.

The instructor will teach approximately three afterschool sessions per week, work collaboratively with the school’s ESL team, and align the program with the broader academic and pastoral framework of Saint Too Bloom Academy.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Design & Program Development
  • Design and develop a coherent, engaging afterschool ESL curriculum aligned with Bloom’s values and academic pathways.
  • Create structured lesson plans and learning materials that integrate language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) with real-world and academic contexts.
  • Collaborate with the school’s ESL and Academic teams to ensure consistency between the afterschool program and in-school English curriculum.
  • Integrate themes of innovation, entrepreneurship, and global citizenship into language learning where appropriate.

Teaching & Learning
  • Deliver three engaging ESL lessons per week, using interactive, student-centered methods.
  • Support students in improving both academic English and functional communication for daily life.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse linguistic and learning needs, including students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment that builds student confidence and self-expression.
  • Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback.

Student Wellbeing & Support
  • Promote students’ social-emotional wellbeing and cultural adjustment to an English-medium school environment.
  • Encourage resilience, collaboration, and independence in learning.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success beyond the classroom.

Professional Practice
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, training, and professional development.
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and model professionalism, integrity, and care.
  • Support the ethos and values of Saint Too Bloom Academy through participation in school events and community initiatives.
