Accountant (Group Finance)

About the role

To manage and accounting processes and maintain full set of accounting books and records in all companies handled by Wallem Services accounts department to comply with internal and external accounting standards and practices in a timely manner.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise the accounting team to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions are captured in the accounting system in a timely manner.
• Overall oversight of provisions/ accruals to ensure accuracy of revenue and cost recognition.
• Oversee the AR/ AP/ group cashflow position at an optimal status.
• Take the lead of month end and year end closing according to the group standard and timeline.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly variance reports.
• Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Liaise with IT, L&D and Marketing & BD team and prepare Actual vs Budget analysis for function leader's review and checking during the budget and forecast exercise.
• Take part in the annual statutory audit and prepare the statutory audited financial statements.
• Review and consolidate the reporting pack from BU and prepare relevant audit schedules.
• Responsible for Hong Kong entities tax computation and tax return filing.
• Take the lead of any ad hoc project to enhance efficiency, timeliness of reporting, and mitigate risks.

• Other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

• University degree holder in Accounting / Finance or related discipline.
• HKICPA Chartered member or equivalent
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX Accounting package is an advantage
• Hands on knowledge and experience in financial accounting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and general practices.
• Reasonable command of written/spoken English and Chinese
• Good communication skills and analytical thinking
• Problem solving skills
