THE ROLE

We are seeking an accomplished Mathematics Teacher for our Middle School programme. The successful candidate will demonstrate mathematical pedagogical excellence, leadership potential, and the ability to inspire students' critical and creative thinking. This position offers opportunities for professional growth within our mathematics department.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning

·       Design and deliver engaging, standards-based mathematics curriculum aligned with progressive, student-centered educational philosophy

·       Demonstrate deep content knowledge of mathematics and its real-world applications

·       Foster mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking through inquiry-based approaches

·       Implement differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs

·       Utilize workshop models and constructivist pedagogical approaches

·       Employ formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and provide meaningful feedback

Collaboration & Leadership

·       Work collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum development, unit planning, and instructional design

·       Participate actively in professional learning communities and departmental meetings

·       Engage in regular supervision and reflective practice with school leadership

·       Contribute to the development and enhancement of the mathematics programme

Community & Professional Development

·       Cultivate respectful, inclusive learning communities where students thrive

·       Integrate educational technology effectively to enhance mathematical learning

·       Maintain current knowledge of best practices in mathematics education

·       Uphold and adhere to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

·       Master's degree in Mathematics Education, Mathematics, or related field

·       Valid teaching certification/license

·       Minimum four years of teaching experience in mathematics at middle school level

·       Deep understanding of contemporary mathematics pedagogy and progressive education principles

·       Demonstrated ability to implement student-centered, constructivist approaches

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Highly Desirable:

·       Bilingual teaching capability (English/Mandarin)

·       Experience with interdisciplinary teaching and Project-Based Learning (PBL)

·       Experience teaching in international school settings

·       Leadership experience (department coordination, curriculum leadership, or mentoring)

·       Familiarity with inquiry-based learning frameworks and workshop models

·       Experience with standards-based assessment and reporting
