We are a registered charitable organisation in Hong Kong dedicated to supporting students with specific learning needs. Our team consists of specialised teachers as well as allied professionals including clinical psychologists and speech therapists. They collaborate to serve hundreds of students in need each year through individualised and continued after-school or in-school intervention programmes, along with professional assessment and therapy services.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Manager – Programmes is a member of the senior management team of the Foundation. He/She reports to the Executive Director (ED), and works closely with other members of the management team on strategic planning, developing and administering of the Foundation’s programmes as outlined in the following paragraphs.
- Attend and support meetings related to programmes and services (P&S) of Pathways, including but not limited to the Education Committee, School Management Committee, and meetings related to the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).
- Advise and formulate, where needed, administrative policies and procedures for P&S related matters to ensure efficient and orderly running of the programmes and services, including responsibility for overseeing scheduling by respective subject heads and administration teams.
- To work on related resolutions by the Executive Council, Education Committee, Marketing, Communications & Fundraising (MarCom & FR) Committee and IT Committee in close collaboration with relevant teams: MarCom & FR Team in particular, in outreach and business development of programmes and services.
- To craft proposals for new services and programmes according to needs and directions in close consultation with relevant teams: Finance Team in particular.
- To ensure engagement of Lead Consultants in conjunction with ED.
- To handle human resources-related matters of the teaching team, including but not limited to recruitment, supervision, team building, development/sourcing of educational programmes to enhance teaching practice and ensure high professional standards for Pathways.
- To manage, organise and deliver talks to staff, parents and schools as appropriate.
- Act as budget owner for the Programmes department, practice sound financial planning and control as approved by Committees and Executive Council.
- To be familiar with, and together with the Executive Director, serve as the subject contact point for international (in particular IDA) and local partners, to develop relationships and foster Pathways’ visibility and status.
We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A degree or a qualified teaching certificate in Education or a related field. Previous experience teaching in pre-school, primary, or secondary settings—particularly with students with special educational needs—is highly desirable.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a management or leadership role involving strategic planning, programme administration, and staff supervision, preferably within a school, learning centre, non-profit institution, or similar organisation.
- Proven ability to work closely with senior management to contribute to and execute strategic goals and craft proposals for new services and programmes based on needs and strategic direction.
- Strong skills in advising and formulating administrative policies and procedures to ensure efficient and orderly programme operations, including responsibility for overseeing scheduling and operational flow.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in managing, organising, and delivering professional talks to diverse audiences, including staff, parents, and schools.
- Good knowledge in education regulations, anti-discrimination ordinances and related laws in Hong Kong.
