Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership & Delivery:

    • Lead and manage the technical aspects of large-scale, multi-year legacy system transformation programs within the banking industry.
    • Oversee the development and execution of the overall transformation strategy, delivery plan, and program budget.
    • Proactively monitor program progress, identify risks and issues, and drive timely mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure alignment of technical solutions with business requirements and overall strategic goals.
    • Drive the program to successful completion and proactively manage issues and risks
  • Strategic Communication & Reporting:

    • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and reports for senior management and C-suite executives, effectively communicating program status, risks, and recommendations.
    • Provide clear and concise updates on program progress to stakeholders at all levels.
    • Establish and maintain effective communication channels within the project teams and with stakeholders.
  • Financial Management & Planning:

    • Develop and manage detailed program budgets, including cost estimations, tracking, and variance analysis.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive delivery plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, vendors, and senior management.
    • Effectively manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns.
    • Foster collaboration and alignment across different teams and departments.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Advise on technical aspects of transformation initiatives.
    • Contribute to technical planning and decision-making processes.
    • Leverage experience and insights to inform transformation strategy.
  • Location-Based requirement:

      Effectively communicate (both verbally and written) in both Cantonese and English

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum [Number] years of experience in leading and managing large-scale legacy system transformation programs within the banking industry.
    • Proven experience in preparing executive-level presentations and reports for senior management and C-suite executives.
    • Demonstrated experience in preparing and managing program budgets and delivery plans.
    • Strong understanding of the banking industry and associated regulations.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of IT systems, technologies, and architectures.
    • Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
    • A significant advantage: Experience with Mainframe-related transformation, particularly with IBM COBOL.

  • Language Skills:

      Fluent in both Cantonese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
    • Proactive and results-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred:

    • Experience with the HSBC change framework or program management methodologies.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
