Technical Officer (Campus Planning) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. R/277/25]
Campus Development Office (CDO) is responsible for building project development and property maintenance. Our office provides comprehensive professional services across a vast array of building project types, including the institutional, office, residential, and hospitality categories. Our responsibilities range from master planning to architecture to interior design, covering all stages of the development process, from client's brief and design requirements to project management and site supervision until project completion. CDO also provides facility maintenance and building repair work to ensure the campus operates smoothly at all times.
Duties
The appointee will assist in strategic planning, administration and management of the campus master plan, campus space planning and allocation, associated capital projects development, and Alterations, Additions and Improvements (AA&I) projects of the University. S/he will play a key role to provide support to UGC’s projects, and Cost Allocation Guidelines (CAG), handle on-going system enhancement and maintenance of CAG specific attributes of space inventory.
Main duties include to:
- Liaise with various university stakeholders to gather and consolidate information pertinent to the University Grants Committee (UGC) and its Cost Allocation Guidelines (CAG) exercise;
- Maintain and manage data collection and analysis related to space and facility utilisation, ensuring accuracy and relevance for planning purposes;
- Support the creation of layout plans, comprehensive reports, and PowerPoint presentations for university management, other administrative offices, or government authorities as required;
- Liaise with users and relevant supporting offices to facilitate and assist in the relocation process, ensuring alignment with the University’s strategic decisions and providing a seamless transition for all affected parties;
- Participate in site inspections as necessary to assess current conditions and implement planning and development initiatives; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree, Higher Diploma, or Higher Certificate in Architecture/Interior Design Studies/Building Surveying, or related disciplines;
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience;
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
- Being a good team player with good communication skills;
- Being self-motivated with the ability to work independently under pressure and tight schedules;
- Strong sense of responsibility; and
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office (including Words, PowerPoint and Excel) are required.
- Experience in higher education institutions and/or experience in managing government subvention projects;
- Knowledge of Revit and Building Information Modelling (BIM); and
- Software skills in 3d Max, Illustrator, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Autodesk Certified would be an advantage.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
