The Centre for Language in Education (CLE) provides Chinese, English, and Putonghua enhancement programmes and services for undergraduate students in the EdUHK. The appointee will be responsible for providing English language support and services to undergraduate and postgraduate students, such as the provision of English workshops, consultations, events, and the development of self-access learning materials. The candidate is expected to engage in enhancing students’ English proficiency and examination readiness for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) through these diverse language learning opportunities and resources.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in English language/Applied Linguistics/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), with preferably relevant TESOL qualification, e.g. the Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) issued by the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) or Cambridge. Prior teaching experience in Workplace English and Academic English would be an advantage. Preference will be given to applicants who possess demonstrated experience in the development of materials in both face-to-face and online learning modes. Having an overall band score of 8 with no less than a band score of 8 in any skill) in IELTS is highly preferable.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave and outpatient medical benefits.
