Overview

The Harbour School is a community-oriented organization that values its employees and supports continued growth and education of all its staff. Our primary and middle school faculty is composed of grade-level teams which include a qualified or certified educator, a learning specialist with a special education degree or certificate, and an educational professional who provides support to the class teachers in all areas of classroom management, small-group instruction and administrative support. 

These education professionals, known within the community as “co-teachers”, gain instructional experience while they assist in all duties in the classroom and at the school throughout the school year.   They are a valued member of the faculty and class community as they enhance the positive development and experience of students in the school. 

Person Requirements

We are seeking a passionate French language educator with:

• Native or near-native fluency in French (C1/C2 level)
• Demonstrated experience teaching French to primary/middle school students
• Strong understanding of language acquisition pedagogy
• Cultural knowledge of French-speaking communities

Candidates should possess:

• A degree in Education, French Language, or related field (current students may apply)
• Prior classroom experience with primary-aged children
• Familiarity with communicative teaching methodologies
• Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate French lessons

Additional valued qualifications:

• Certification in French language instruction (DELF/DALF, FLE, etc.)
• Experience with IB PYP or inquiry-based learning
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction techniques
