Sub-Editor (The Standard - Subbing)

Job Description:

• Edit articles written by reporters whose first language is not English
• Write compelling headlines, picture captions and story summaries
• Check all names and facts; work with reporters to verify information and story details

• Learn the basics of newspaper page layout and production
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in English, Journalism or Communications with 1-2 years of work experience
• Excellent command of English, preferably at native level
• Proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua is an asset
• Sound knowledge of local current affairs
• Good organizational skills, initiative and able to work independently
• Able to work under extreme pressure and meet deadlines
• Working location: Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate
