Job brief

Watermark specializes in providing luxury products for the hospitality industry. Primarily working in the aviation sector, we design and make amenity kits, meal service and textiles for the world’s leading airlines. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Sourcing Specialist for Bags and Bedding to join our team in Hong Kong (Watermark Asia Limited).

The successful candidate will work as a member of the Operations Team, providing professional support for but not limited to sourcing materials, goods, and new suppliers, whilst will be heavily involved in product development and sampling function.

Job Description:

• Sourcing suppliers and maintaining long-term relationships with them as well as existing suppliers.
• Evaluating and qualifying new suppliers based on development support, quality systems, production capacity, technical capabilities resource plans, serving level, pricing competitiveness, social and environmental elements of Code of Conduct.
• Maintain and update the supplier database and find alternative suppliers if the existing ones are unable to meet their obligations.
• Sourcing and developing new products in line with company strategy, budgets, quality, and ethical requirements.
• Obtaining quotes from different suppliers.
• Negotiating price, quality, and delivery schedule with suppliers
• Work closely with internal departments and suppliers on product development from concept stage to shipment.
• Identify and resolve product specifications issues upfront. Direct product specs to the right supplier.
• Executing product allocations based on supplier capability, capacity, quality and delivery performance and price.
• Assisting in the overall continuous improvement in efficiency.
• Perform ad hoc activities as required.

Requirements/competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree, major in Fashion bags and Bedding is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of sourcing experience, with a thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies, sourcing, and product development processes.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Intensive product, technical knowledge and regulatory requirements are preferred. 
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to work effectively to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A strategic thinker, able to anticipate potential issues and the skills to communicate necessary changes to other team members.
• Initiative-taking and able to work both independently and as part of the international team.
• Articulate, detail-minded, and organised.
• Proficient computer knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Chinese Word Processing.
• Fluent in oral & written English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
