Senior Product Development & Design Manager - Home

We are seeking an experienced and creative home candidate to join our team. The successful candidate must have a strong design sense, and will be responsible for supporting the trend, design and development across home products (hard and soft décor including but not limited to tabletop, kitchen, garden, lighting, pillows, throws, and kitchen textiles), while driving innovation and maintaining brand consistency across client’s product lines.

Product Development:

• Responsible for the execution of home product development briefs and assist in the formulation of product ideas and strategies.
• Communicate with clients about their future needs and wants.
• Collaborate with other departments to align product design with overall brand strategy.
• Collaborate with the design team to translate seasonal concepts with graphic design for home products.
• Conceptualize and develop new home products.
• Prepare client product portfolios for upcoming trends.
• Coordinate with related parties to ensure new products are effectively monitored and executed from the design phase to launch.
• Review sales performance and formulate timely incentive programs to enhance it.

Market Analysis and Trend Development:

• Must be strong in trend, product, market research, and product development to identify a continuous stream of commercially viable new products in the home industry.
• Responsible for evaluating product sales to develop new ideas for new products.
• Conduct thorough research on similar products among competitors to implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets.
• Stay current with competitive activities, industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies.
• Responsible for developing Connor corporate trends twice a year.

Communication:

• Present seasonal trends and product lines to global teams, stakeholders, and clients.
• Visually merchandise showroom set up for Connor trends and client meetings.
• Build and maintain relationship with key suppliers, partners, industry contacts and clients.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• University degree or equivalent.
• A minimum of 6 years relevant work experience of which at least 4 years at the managerial level, experience in product development, especially in home products.
• Previous experience handling clients is a must.
• Ability to balance design with commercial constraints.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Have a good product eye and home product knowledge; being familiar with the US market will be a huge plus.
• Ability to sketch by hand or read in 2D. 3D is an advantage.
• Familiar with research resources & channels.
• Good command of English.
• Responsible, detail-minded, flexible, and a good team player while being able to work independently, and cope with deadlines.
• Candidates with less experience will be considered as PD & Design Manager.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
