Senior Physical Education Officer (Student-athletes Development) in the Student Development Services [Ref. B/859/03]
Duties
Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Development Services (Physical Education), the appointee will be required to:
- Be responsible for the planning, organising and quality assurance of student-athletes development programmes (including Leadership Development and Service Learning Projects, Sports Ambassadors Programme);
- Take a major leadership role in managing the Student-Athletes Admission Scheme (Local);
- Manage Sports Scholarship Schemes;
- Take a major leadership role in organising Sports for All programmes and Healthy-U activities, all of which are well received by the CityUHK community;
- Teach PE courses, manage/coach CityUHK Sports Teams and serves as advisor for student sports bodies; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
The appointee will also be required to work irregular hours.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related disciplines, preferably with a Master’s degree;
- At least 10 years’ solid administrative and/or supervisory experience;
- Substantial experience in teaching and coaching at tertiary level, organising sports activities and other management duties;
- Being a good leader with ability to manage a team of sports professionals;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
- Good command of computer literacy.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes
