Senior Merchandiser (Food)

We are currently inviting a talented professional to join our Istanbul office, Turkey for the exciting role below.

The Job

• Responsible for sourcing and business development activities including guiding and preparing suppliers for upcoming buying seasons.
• Collaborate with buyers in Germany and Suppliers to negotiate prices, quantities and project timelines.
• Fulfill assigned turnover targets, perform sourcing activities and support the execution of business development plans.
• Ensure Suppliers have a good understanding of REWE requirements, product specifications and the required quality level.
• Conduct market analysis and timely reports to facilitate the buyers on the buying decisions and assortment building

Requirements

• Degree holder in Food Engineering, Food Science or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferable in European buying offices.
• Familiar with European market and quality standards and requirements on retail Food products including canned, frozen (fish) and dry.
• Good communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of the team in a cross-cultural environment.
• Solution-oriented, attention to details, and always striving for customer success and excellent service.
• Mature personality with a high level of independence and integrity.
• Advance level in both spoken and written English.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
