Resident Environmental Engineer (Ref. JD_23058REE)

We are looking for the following experienced professional who is capable of carrying out supervision and co-ordination work for the project of “Batch 1B, 1C Development of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park”:

Resident Environmental Engineer (Ref. JD_23058REE)
The minimum qualifications required for the post of Resident Environmental Engineer shall be as follows:

Qualifications:

• a corporate member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in Environmental Discipline or equivalent; or
• a corporate member of a professional institution (e.g. HKIE other than in the Environmental Discipline, or the Hong Kong Institute of Architects or the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals (HKIQEP) etc.) EITHER having at least (3) years of experience in environmental management, monitoring and auditing of construction activities, OR in possession of a diploma or above in environmental studies or environmental engineering awarded by a local or overseas tertiary educational institution; or  
• a senior staff having at least (5) years of construction site environmental management experience and completed the Environmental Officer Course run by the Construction Industry Council (CIC), or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or the Environmental Protection, Safety and Health Course run by the School of Professional Education and Development (SPEED) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or an equivalent certificate course on environmental studies or environmental engineering run by a tertiary educational institution if considered as appropriate; or 
• a senior staff,
  (a) either possessing an engineering degree and having at least (10) years of construction site environmental management experience, or possessing a higher certificate in a construction related subject and having at least (15) years; and
  (b) who has completed the “Environmental Management Course for Construction Managers” or equivalent organized by CIC or similar training institutions if considered as appropriate.
   

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the implementation of requirements stipulated in the Particular Specification of Supplementary Environmental requirement and at Lok Ma Chau Loop Development for Batch 1B & 1C, Environmental Specification for Sediment Reuse and Disposal at Sea. Attend and witness Contractor’s environmental site investigations as applicable.
• Supervise the implementation of environmental management measures. 
• Prior to the commencement and after completion of the excavation of each classified type of sediment at the designated depth, the excavation depths of the sediment shall be measured in situ by the Contractor and certified by Resident Environmental Engineer to confirm the actual volume of sediment to be disposed.
• Monitor the progress of implementation of environmental mitigation measures, sediment reuse and disposal.
   

Employment will be on a contract basis for a period of 24 months commencing from end of March 2025 tentatively with possible extension subject to works condition. The remuneration package will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualification and experience.
