Research Assistant (holding a functional title of User Operations Specialist - Market Research & Customer Insights)
[Appointment period: 12 months]
The appointees will assist the project leader in one of the research projects below:
“AI-Powered Interactive Marketing and Customer Engagement Solution” (Ref. No.: AiDLab/P1.1/R098), or
“Designer-led AI System for Fashion Accessory and Lifestyle Product Design” (Ref. No.: AiDLab/P1.2/R101), or
“AI-Driven Pattern Making System for Fashion” (Ref. No.: AiDLab/P1.3/R104)
Job Duties
a) Collect user feedback via interviews, surveys, and community engagement.
b) Analyze market trends and competitor dynamics to drive product improvements.
c) Develop user growth/retention strategies and organize engagement activities.
d) Build a user feedback loop and collaborate with product/customer service teams.
e) Foster long-term client relationships to enhance brand reputation.
Qualifications Requirements
a) Bachelor’s degree holder in related disciplines with at least 1 year experience in user operations/market analysis with strong communication skills (extroverted).
b) Proficient in Excel/SQL/Google Analytics to derive insights from behavioral data.
c) Empathetic and approachable to build client trust rapidly.
d) Ability to structure fragmented feedback into actionable requirements.
e) B2B/high-net-worth user operations experience is preferred.
f) Working on irregular hours and short-term travelling for client visits may be required.
Priority will be given to applicants who are familiarize with Hong Kong/international user habits with fluency in English/Cantonese.

AiDLab is the region’s first research platform that focuses on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with design. It was jointly established by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Royal College of Art (RCA) in the UK, and is funded by the HKSAR Government under the InnoHK Research Clusters. Located at the Hong Kong Science Park, AiDLab has established a new creative cluster of AI in design and is in a leading position internationally to conduct interdisciplinary research that drives innovation and sustainability, and makes a positive impact on both industry and society. AiDLab brings together a diverse mix of leading researchers and practitioners from its founding institutions to conduct research in three thematic programmes: Ergonomic and Inclusive Design, Innovation in Product and Service Design, and Intelligent Fashion Design and Quality Control.
