The Role
Primary: To support the Proposals and Communications Manager in preparing compelling and impactful
proposals for sale and presentations for client-facing specialists and the Executive Team in Asia, to win
business and consignments.
Secondary: Support the development of English copy and ensure its quality and accuracy, across
various internal and external platforms, channels, and media, including but not limited to press releases,
the company website, external communications to clients, as well as internal staff communications.
Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Providing business-getting support to Christie’s teams of specialists and executives in Asia and
specifically Hong Kong
• Support copywriting and project management responsibilities on major, complex proposals,
presentations, and market reports, often under tight deadlines, to win business. Work closely
with the Proposals and Communications Manager, Department Heads and Specialists, and
Marketing and Communications team colleagues throughout the process. The candidate must
help ensure that deadlines are met and projects are completed to the highest quality and
accuracy.
• Compile statistical information and data for business-getting purposes, using the company’s
internal tools, as well as external sources where required and appropriate.
• Collaborate with the Design and Media team to ensure the availability of suitable visual
assets to be used in proposals, market reports, and other business-getting materials.
Supporting the drafting of English copy for various platforms and channels, and across
different media
• In addition to the candidate’s primary responsibility to support the creation of proposals and business getting
assets, they may also be required to craft English copy for use in various platforms, channels,
and capacities, including but not limited to press releases, external communications to clients, internal
staff communications, and website content.
• Ensure that the English copy used in various communications are of the highest quality
and accuracy.
• Ensure that the copy written utilizes the appropriate tone-of-voice and syntax, depending on its
intended audience, context, and medium.
The Candidate
• Native or excellent fluency in written and spoken English.
• At least an intermediate level of fluency in written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art / Marketing Communications / Business, or a related discipline.
• At least 1-2 years of working experience in a related industry. Solid experience with a reputable
auction house, or renowned Creative, Advertising, and Marketing agencies would be highly
preferred. Fresh graduates and candidates with less experience will be considered for the role of
Junior Proposals Writer.
• An exceptional writing ability.
• Meticulous and accurate, and with a very keen eye for detail.
• Strong time management skills – highly organized with ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility and personal accountability.
• Committed team player but also able to self-motivate and work well independently.
• Dedication to producing work of the highest standard, with the ability to work well and calmly
under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Solid analytical and numerical skills. Good business sense.
• Strategic mindset. Ability to analyze detail and draw conclusions to inform “bigger picture
thinking”.
• Diligence and a positive attitude; commitment and willingness to work long hours when
required.
• A keen interest in art and luxury.
• A solid visual sense and eye for design and aesthetics.
• High computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and
iOS. Knowledge and proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud software (primarily InDesign,
Illustrator, and Photoshop) is strongly preferred.
