Product Merchandiser

We are looking for a Product Development Executive to join our team. This person will report directly to and work closely with the company founders.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support lead designer extensively in product development, sampling, and improvements;
• Perform cost analysis and optimization during the product development phase;
• Communicate with management when improvements can be made, such as quantity discounts, or other cost savings;
• Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders, and requests for quotes;
• Coordinate purchasing activities with all component suppliers to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner;
• Regularly visit suppliers’ facilities (mainly within China) usually by day trip if possible for improvement initiatives and problem-solving
• Assist in quality control plan and coordinate with China-based third-party QC service provider

Other Responsibilities:

• Stay up-to-date with major markets’ industry safety standards and interface with third-party testing labs to coordinate safety testing for products and components;
• File all test reports and records

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years experience in procurement or industrial/manufacturing engineering is required, preferably in consumer goods, plastic products, or electronic accessories.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent is preferable;
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Advanced Microsoft Excel user;
• Basic 3D Modelling Skills preferred;
• Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills;
• Knowledge of Supply Chain business processes and tools;
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and attentive to detail in a fast-paced work environment;
• Needs to be an independent worker with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset;
• Strong accountability and leadership traits and willingness to own these responsibilities;
• Flexibility and adaptability to evolving priorities while working in a dynamic environment;
• Occasional travel to meet suppliers and manufacturers will be required;
• Proficient in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese
