About Us

We are a newly established private school in Hong Kong dedicated to providing a holistic and high-quality education through internationally recognized curricula. As a founding team member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our school’s academic culture, sports programmes, and student development initiatives. We believe in fostering well-rounded individuals through a balanced emphasis on academic excellence, physical well-being, and character building.

Role Overview

We are seeking an energetic, health-conscious, and passionate Physical Education Teacher to design and deliver a comprehensive PE curriculum for students in Year 7–11. The ideal candidate will not only have experience teaching within international curricula but will also exemplify a healthy and active lifestyle, serving as a role model for students in physical fitness and overall wellness.

This role extends beyond traditional teaching—it includes contributing to school-wide sports events, extracurricular coaching, and assisting in the development of our sports facilities and wellness programmes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Curriculum Development

* Deliver engaging and age-appropriate PE lessons aligned with the Cambridge Secondary Curriculum and international standards.

* Develop units that incorporate sports skills, fitness training, health education, and social-emotional learning.

* Differentiate instruction to support students of varying skill levels and physical abilities.

* Promote values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and leadership.

2. Sports Programme & Extracurricular Leadership

* Lead or support after-school sports clubs (e.g., basketball, football, swimming, badminton, yoga).

* Organize and coordinate intra-school leagues, inter-school competitions, and annual sports days.

* Introduce non-traditional or local sports (e.g., dragon boating, hiking) to connect with Hong Kong’s culture and environment.

3. School Startup Involvement (December 2025 onwards)

* Collaborate on the design and setup of sports facilities (indoor gym, outdoor spaces, equipment procurement).

* Assist in developing risk assessments, safety protocols, and emergency procedures for PE and sports activities.

* Participate in admissions and community events (e.g., open days, student orientation, parent workshops).

4. Wellness & Whole-School Contributions

* Support school-wide wellness initiatives, such as mental health awareness campaigns and fitness challenges.

* Serve as an advisor or mentor to student groups and contribute to school branding through sports-related content.

Candidate Profile

Education & Certification

* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Education, Sports Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.

* Valid teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, state/provincial certification) with a specialization in PE.

* Certifications in First Aid/CPR, lifeguarding, or specific sports coaching are highly desirable.

Experience

* At least 3 years of experience teaching PE in an international or bilingual school setting.

* Familiarity with the Cambridge Secondary Curriculum or IGCSE Physical Education syllabus is preferred.

* Experience in coaching one or more sports and organizing school-wide sports events.

Physical Fitness & Health Requirements

* Maintain a high level of physical fitness and overall health to effectively demonstrate sports techniques and actively participate in physical activities.

* Ability to lead by example in terms of personal wellness, fitness habits, and healthy lifestyle choices.

* Capacity to supervise and engage in strenuous physical activities, including but not limited to demonstrating exercises, leading warm-ups, and accompanying students in outdoor and sports events under various weather conditions.

* Willingness to periodically undergo basic fitness or health assessments as part of role-related duty of care.

Skills & Attributes

* Passionate about youth physical development and holistic education.

* Creative in designing inclusive and innovative physical activities.

* Strong communicator with fluency in English (proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus).

* Collaborative, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a founding team in a startup school environment.
