Middle School English Teacher – Two-Year Contract

• Cultivate strong relationships with students and co-construct respectful and collaborative learning communities,
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary teaching and learning theories and practice in a progressive school, dual-language child-centered environment,
• Lead the creation and implementation of a student-led inquiry, dual language, standards-based curriculum (US Common Core) for students,
• Create lesson plans and be open to modifications,
• Engage students and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students,
• Support child-centered classrooms using positive strategies,
• Meet regularly with the DSHK leadership for supervision and debriefing,
• Participate in co-teach/co-plan lesson planning and curriculum development,
• Demonstrate a practical knowledge of digital literacy and application of educational technology tools
• Have a deep knowledge of the grade level or department curriculum and keep abreast of current trends and developments in curriculum and assessment,
• Have familiarity with inquiry planning, workshop model, and/or understanding by design framework,
• Keep abreast of current trends and developments in education and lead professional development opportunities within the School,

• Use formative assessments to modify future lessons, make in-the-moment instructional adjustments based on student understanding, and give feedback aligned with the learning target(s) 
  

Qualifications Requirement

• Master's degree in education and three years of teaching experience

• Experience in English Drama will be a plus
