Merchandising & Production Specialist
About the Role:
We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Merchandising Specialist to own the end-to-end production process for our woven and knit uniforms. You will be the crucial link between our design concepts, our clients, and our factory execution, ensuring high-quality garments are delivered on time and to specification. This role requires a professional who is exceptionally strong in both production management and cross-border team communication.
What You'll Do:
Own the Production Cycle: Independently manage all merchandising duties, from initial concept to final client delivery and satisfaction in a short cycle
Team Collaboration & Handoff: Work closely with the merchandising team in China to ensure seamless handoff and reception of work. This requires crystal-clear communication and a commitment to documenting every step without assumptions.
Proactive Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. This includes attending in-person meetings to capture all requirements and providing regular, detailed follow-up via phone and email on production progress, milestones, and status updates.
Technical Development: Create and manage comprehensive technical packages (tech packs), including detailed specifications, size charts, fitting requirements, technical comments, and basic paper patterns.
Factory Communication: Draft and translate technical packs and comments into simplified Chinese for clear, precise direction to our manufacturing partners.
Sourcing & Prototyping: Lead initial product development, including sourcing appropriate fabrics and materials, and translating design concepts (words and sketches) into viable production garments.
What You'll Bring:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of working experience in apparel merchandising for both woven and knit categories.
Communication & Teamwork: A proven track record of successful cross-functional teamwork and a firm dedication to clear, assumption-free communication with internal and external partners.
System Knowledge & Organization: Willingness and ability to quickly learn and utilize Odoo (or similar P&O software) for project management. Must have strong organizational habits, including meticulous dual calendaring of all critical deadlines in Odoo with a reliable backup system (e.g., Outlook).
Language Skills: Strong command of spoken Cantonese, Mandarin, and English to facilitate clear and professional factory and client communication.
Soft Skills: A self-starter who is detail-oriented, highly proactive, responsible, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. A strong eye for detail and design is essential.
