THE GIG
Reporting into the Product Costing Manager, the Materials Costing Analyst / Senior Analyst will work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment, communicating widely to gather information from across the company and compiling that information into complex cost models combining speed with the utmost attention to detail and accuracy.
In additional to be responsible for leading and supporting the materials costs (focus on Leather and PVC at the first phase) and prices data for each seasonal launch and carry over ranges, you will work extensively with the Materials team to obtain key cost components and prices and providing comprehensive data back to these teams.
Key areas of responsibility will be:

Be the first point of contact for all costing matters relating to third-party materials prices from our suppliers – annual spend c$350m and over 150 suppliers.

Support the creation, set up and maintain consolidated master database for all materials for each seasonal launch and carry over ranges.

Perform any cost / price / profitability / savings analysis of new, current materials and products and regular reporting of status and concerns.

Analyze, benchmark vs. suppliers / external markets / commodities / previous seasons and report on materials component costs as well as the included indirect costs such as labor and overheads for the materials via open book costing process. Work with Materials team and external suppliers to get this in place and in use.

Work closely with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure accuracy of materials component prices agreed with DM and aligned to T1 / T2 factories.

Work with Product Costing manager to ensure cost breakdown sheets received from factories or in PLM reflect the agreed materials pricing and are complete and accurate.

Liaise with various teams such as Materials team, Sourcing, Development and Supply Planning to ensure that any issues raised by T2 / T1 factories related to material costs and pricing are resolved.

Support the Product Costing Manager and the Materials Team Lead with any ad-hoc work.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
To be our Materials Costing Analyst / Senior Analyst, you will also possess these qualities:

Degree holder, with 6-8 years of experience in the footwear, apparel and/or accessories industries.

Minimum 5 years of work experience of materials costing (preferred experience in Leather and PVC, EVA or other footwear/accessories materials and parts) and pricing (or Procurement).

Ability to work with various and multi-functional teams to obtain data inputs required.

Ability to use advanced Excel skills to create and analyse large and complex data sheets.

Commercially astute with a flexible approach to the role.

Proven ability working in a fast-moving environment to agreed deadlines that may require a rapid turnaround.

Experience of using accounting systems and BI tools preferable.

Excellent English communication, spoken Chinese will be an advantage.
