Junior Software Engineer

​Role and Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and development of internal and customer-facing applications such as

  • The CRM,
  • The client portal,
  • CIGP’s public website,
  • The careers portal,
  • HR and Compliance internal applications,
  • The order flow, other front office and operations internal applications.
• Produce documentation and provide user training for these new applications;
• Assist with the integration of third-party platforms such as FA Solutions, DocuSign, RiskScreen;
• Assist with user management operations, such as the provisioning of user accounts;
• Assist with the maintenance of CIGP’s IT cloud infrastructure;
• Liaise with external vendors and IT services providers;
• Participate in CIGP's digital growth by evaluating and implementing new technologies; to keep up to speed with the latest trends and technical evolutions; to provide user training and support on these new technologies when applicable; and
• Help protect CIGP against cyber-security threats by implementing security measures and provide user training.

Requirements

• Academic: Degree in computer science or information systems.

• Professional experience: 1 – 2 years of related work experiences.

• Programming and IT skills: good command of object-oriented programming languages (C# preferred), JavaScript (Angular preferred), Firebase, mobile app development (Flutter preferred), relational and NoSQL databases (Azure SQL, MongoDB preferred). Good knowledge and experience of cloud computing design and architecture (Azure preferred). Familiar with Agile methodology and DevOps processes. Familiar with network and hardware infrastructure. Familiar with the Office 365 suite of applications (Office, OneDrive, SharePoint, …) and its administration.

• Personal skills:Analytical, entrepreneurial, autonomous, self-starter, capable of sourcing and executing projects independently. Good team player with strong communications skills. Curious about new technology trends.

• Languages: Full working proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking). Any additional language is a plus.
