IT Project Manager - Data Migration Project - around HKD 70,000/ month

Job Summary
For one of our leading financial services organization we are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to oversee the technical implementation of a large-scale data migration project. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for designing the technical architecture, Data  Warehouse, leading the development team, and ensuring the successful migration of data from legacy systems to a new platform. This is a key leadership role that will require both strong technical expertise and excellent project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design the technical architecture for the data migration, including data extraction, transformation, and loading processes
• Develop the migration strategy and implementation plan in collaboration with the project management team
• Lead a team of developers, data engineers, and QA analysts to execute the migration plan
• Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks and challenges throughout the project
• Develop and document migration processes, data validation procedures, and cutover plans
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to the development team as needed
• Communicate project status, technical decisions, and escalations to project stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and quality assurance processes
• Collaborate with the infrastructure and operations teams to plan and execute the production deployment

• Review and approve all technical deliverables before handing off to the client
   

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a technical lead or senior developer role leading a team.
• Proven experience leading the technical implementation of large-scale data migration or ETL projects
• Expertise in Data Warehouse, Data Architecture, Data Modeling, and Database Management
• Strong programming skills in languages such as PL/SQL, MS SQL, Oracle SQL, OracleDB
• Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS)
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus
• Experience in project management in Banking/ Insurance would be an advantage
• Proficient with Agile/Waterfall methodology of managing large projects and familiar with full project SDLC methodology
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese
