Contract Manager

The Opportunity

Wallem Shipping (HK) Limited, a leading player in the global maritime industry, is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join our team.

Position Overview  

The role primarily is responsible to review and analyze all Contracts and pricing administration and to negotiation with vendors / suppliers to ensure cost efficiencies for Technical / Operations including but not limited to repairs and maintenance for the fleet for Wallem Shipmanagement.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Accountable for reviewing all Contracts
• Evaluation of contracts to ensure process and statutory/regulatory compliance and to highlight any T&Cs that may conflict with Wallem’s mode of operation
• Draft, revise, and negotiate a wide variety of complex, non-routine contract types with minimal supervision, including but not limited to Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials and Labor Hour contracts
• Assist in creating standards to optimize contract negotiations and contract renewals
• Constant review with vendors/suppliers to drive and improve operational efficiency, directly contributing to improved profitability
• Aid in preparing budgets and detailed estimates for Technical Team in Wallem Shipmanagement
• Acts as key interface with ship owners, vendor/suppliers and Technical team on preparing and disseminating information regarding contract status, compliance, modification and contract notice requirements

What we're looking for

• Holder of University Degree or its equivalent
• At least 10 years’ experience in the maritime industry
• Minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience
• Good understanding of procurement practices and procedures (both market and internal)
• Willing to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, and makes timely decisions.
• Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyzes information skillfully
• Able to synthesize complex or diverse information
• Demonstrates abilities to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans
• Ability to observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly. Is aware of risks company faces and implements risk management plans
