Backend Engineer

Job Description

• Designing and implementing data acquisition systems via APIs (e.g., Bloomberg, Binance, Deribit) or web scraping to collect financial market data
• Developing and optimizing database architectures to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of financial information
• Building secure and scalable RESTful APIs to support frontend applications
• Ensuring data integrity and security across all systems
• Collaborating with frontend developers and internal stakeholders to refine project requirements
• Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines
• Strong programming skills with solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Proficiency in Python
• Familiarity with databases and storage technologies such as Redis, PostgreSQL/MySQL, and MongoDB
• Understanding of common architectural principles including but not limited to microservices, asynchronous processing, high availability, and scalability
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong sense of responsibility
• Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward learning and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in financial domains such as equities, futures, options, or cryptocurrencies
• Familiarity with financial market data formats including candlestick charts (K-line), order books, etc.
• Experience with web scraping and a strong product-oriented mindset
