Assistant Librarian II (Electronic Resources Management), Library (Ref.: 25/42/LIB/ALII)

Duties
The appointee will be required to (1) perform everyday routines concerning the e-collections of the Library (such as liaising with suppliers with regard to acquisitions, subscriptions, renewals and payments), manage the budgets for e-resources and monitor the usage of digital materials as well as review the policies and procedures in relation to e-collections development and management; (2) implement policies and guidelines on e-resources, formulate annual development plans and participate in library-wide projects; (3) provide liaison services to the Schools/ Departments and help develop the e-collections so as to meet the University’s growing curricular and research needs; (4) review and update the webpages in order to publicize the e-resources and related services; (5) maintain the relevance of the e-collections by analyzing statistical data and compiling reports to inform the decision-making processes; (6) supervise and provide training to the support staff; (7) serve on committees and task forces as appropriate; (8) undertake other duties as assigned by the Librarian or his/ her delegates.

Appointment Criteria
Applicants should have (1) a recognized degree and professional qualifications (MLS MCLIP or equivalent); (2) at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably with supervisory experience in libraries of higher education institutions; (3) a sound knowledge of e-resources management; (4) a familiarity with the key operational principles of library management systems and discovery tools; (5) strong coordination, organizational and interpersonal skills; (6) an ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment; (7) a high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
