About the role:
1) Buying Preparation & Support:
- Conduct market research & trend analysis.
- Assist in developing buying plans and strategies.
- Prepare buying documents (Order Master, product map).
- Analyze historical sales and inventory data to inform decisions.
2) Assortment Selection & Development:
- Collaborate with the Buyer on style, color, and quantity selection.
- Help maintain a balanced assortment across store needs and brand direction.
- Participate in showroom appointment (Physical/ virtual).
3) Vendor Communication & Relationship Management:
- Act as a key contact for vendors regarding merchandise & non-merchandise orders, deliveries, and inquiries.
- Communicate order confirmations and requirements.
- Build and maintain strong, professional vendor relationships.
- Marketing Coordination: Collaborate with Marketing department to coordinate vendor-supported activities (e.g., cobranded WeChat posts, exclusive CRM events, influencer collaborations). Communicate marketing calendars and requirements to vendors.
- Vendor Support Initiatives: Assist in coordinating promotional activities, including GWP programs, staff incentives, and exclusive launch events. Track execution and performance.
4) Sales Reporting, Analysis & Store Support:
- Generate and distribute regular sales reports (daily/weekly/monthly).
- Analyze sales by product, category, store, and vendor; identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on analysis.
- Monitor inventory and assist in managing markdowns/promotions.
- Training: Prepare product knowledge materials and training guides. Lead or participate in store team training sessions (virtual/in-person) on product features, trends, and selling points.
You are the perfect one if you are/have:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a buying assistant, merchandising assistant, or relevant role within the fashion retail industry.
- Strong understanding of the fashion buying cycle, retail math, and merchandising principles.
- Proven analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, charts).
- Excellent organizational skills & meticulous attention to detail.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships (internal & external).
- Keen eye for fashion trends and product aesthetics.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
