Applications are invited for appointment as Application Developer/Senior Application Developer, to commence as soon as possible, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

The appointee will join the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health (D24H), a start-up company incorporated by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) that is led by senior faculty members of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine at HKU. The D24H sets to play pivotal role in gathering and curating massive, unique data resources and to develop new, deep, frontier analytics in protecting global public health and improving individual healthcare through precision medicine.

Responsibilities:

• To assist the Android mobile application development life cycle, including design, coding, testing, implementation and documentation;
• To ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications are met;
• To assist and guide the team on system design and development;
• To collaborate with team members to deliver the services and meet project milestones and deadlines; and
• To communicate with project team(s) and/or clients to collect requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines with at least 3 years experiences in mobile application development in Android;
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin and SDK integration is necessary;
• Experience in integrating BLE hardware into development is highly preferred;
• Experience in AWS services including Lambda, EC2, and S3 will be an added advantage; and
• Good communication skills and problem-solving skills.

Applicants with more experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Application Developer.
