APAC Head of IT/ IT Director

THE ROLE

As the IT Head of OnTheList APAC, you will be at the forefront of driving our technological strategy and innovation. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead a high-performing team of software engineers, data scientists, and IT professionals, ensuring the seamless development and delivery of cutting-edge software products that meet the evolving needs of our customers in the retail and other relevant sectors.

WHAT WE WILL TRUST YOU WITH

Software Product Development

• Oversee the entire software product development lifecycle. 
  From concept ideation to deployment and post - launch support.  
  Including and not limited to our Desktop, Mobile Web, Mobile App.

• Leverage your extensive experience in software product development to guide the team in creating intuitive, scalable, and secure software solutions.  
  This includes setting product requirements, defining technical architectures, and coordinating with cross - functional teams such as design, marketing, and operations.

• Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, such as Agile methodologies, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), and test - driven development. Ensure that our products are developed with high quality standards, minimal bugs, and maximum efficiency. 
  

Innovation & New business opportunities

Plan and develop innovation to continue the digital transformation the company has been going through in the last years.

Integration of AI and new technologies to have a functional role in the reshaping of our infrastructure.

• Support and drive new verticals / business models based on business opportunities. 
  

Retail Experience Integration

Leverage your in-depth retail experience to understand the unique challenges and opportunities in the retail industry. Work closely with our retail partners and internal teams to develop technological solutions that optimize the shopping experience, improve inventory management, and enhance customer engagement.

• Analyze retail data and market trends to identify areas where technology can drive competitive advantage. Translate these insights into actionable technology strategies and product features. 
  
  

Cross - Functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing, sales, and operations, to align technological initiatives with overall business goals.

Provide technical guidance and support to non-technical teams, helping them understand and utilize technology to achieve their objectives.

• Participate in strategic planning sessions
  to shape the company's long - term growth strategy. 
  
  

Information security and compliance, Data

Establishing and monitoring the company’s information security strategy for risk and compliance management, supporting the platform’s daily security operations, system maintenance, and upgrades to ensure the security and stability of systems and data.

Solidify current database structure and work on scalability

• Enable new functional dashboards to support our business needs
  
  

Team Management

Manage and mentor a diverse team of technology professionals. Use your management experience to set clear goals, assign tasks, and provide regular feedback. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Recruit, hire, and retain top - tier technical talent. Identify the skills and expertise needed to support the company's growth and technological initiatives. Develop and implement training and development programs to enhance the capabilities of the team. 
  
  

WHAT IT TAKES:

10 + years of experience in software product development, with a proven track record of successfully delivering software products.

5-7 + years of management experience, preferably in a technology-driven organization / start-ups.

2-5 years of experience in the retail industry, with a clear understanding of retail operations and technology trends.

Experience in building ecommerce platforms and mobile application development, with specific expertise in Shopify integrations being highly advantageous.

Proficiency in programming languages including JavaScript, TypeScript, React Native, and Python, with hands-on experience in developing micro-service and serverless applications.

Experience in data engineering, including designing and managing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.

Familiarity with AWS infrastructure, enabling secure, scalable and efficient deployment of applications.

Exceptional English oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

In - depth knowledge of software development technologies, including programming languages, frameworks, and databases.

Excellent problem - solving and decision - making skills, with the ability to think strategically and tactically.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
