IT Business Analyst - Data Migration

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst - Data Migration to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in driving the successful execution of complex finance data migration projects. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of data migration processes, strong technical skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis and Mapping:

  • Analyze source and target systems to identify data discrepancies and inconsistencies.
  • Develop detailed data mapping documents to ensure accurate data transformation.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement ETL processes.

• Project Management:

  • Manage the end-to-end data migration project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including technical teams, business analysts, and project managers.
  • Track project progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.

• SQL Tuning and Optimization:

  • Optimize SQL queries to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues.
  • Collaborate with database administrators to ensure database health and integrity.

• Business Analysis:

  • Elicit and document business requirements in both English and Cantonese.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with business users to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.

• Stakeholder Management:

  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including technical and non-technical audiences, in both English and Cantonese.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Negotiate timelines and priorities with stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong SQL skills, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with data migration tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Cantonese.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
