Part-Time Accountant

• Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
• Reports to: Business Owner/Manager

Job Summary

The Part-Time Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records, ensuring compliance with Hong Kong accounting standards and regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting for our kids' retail, online, and playroom business. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and knowledge of local tax laws and financial practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping and Financial Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Invoicing and Payments: Process invoices, track payments, and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely settlements.
• Expense Tracking: Monitor and categorize business expenses, including retail inventory, online platform costs, and playroom operational expenses.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) to streamline financial processes and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or small business environments.
• Certifications: CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Hong Kong accounting standards, tax regulations, and MPF requirements.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills in English and Cantonese (Mandarin is a plus).
• Availability: Flexible to work 20 hours per week, with the ability to adjust hours during peak periods (e.g., year-end closing or tax filing seasons).
