Senior Specialist (Jewels, Watches and Handbags)

About the role

Poly Auction (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a highly experienced Senior Specialist to join our team in Hong Kong Island. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing expert-level advice and support to our clients on the valuation, consignment and sale of jewellery, watches and luxury handbags.

What you'll be doing

1. Conducting thorough research and analysis to accurately assess the value and condition of jewellery, watches and handbags

2. Providing personalised consultations to clients on the best approach to consigning their valuable items for auction

3. Collaborating with the wider Poly Auction team to market and promote consigned items to targeted buyers

4. Negotiating favourable terms for the company and clients during the sales process

5. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients

6. Sharing your deep industry expertise to educate both clients and colleagues

7. Contributing to the continuous improvement of our auction processes and client services

What we're looking for

1. 7+ years' experience as a specialist in the jewellery, watches or luxury handbags sector

2. Comprehensive knowledge of the auction and art market, including current trends and industry regulations

3. Proven track record of providing exceptional client service and securing favourable outcomes

4. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with both clients and colleagues

5. Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team environment

6. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as gemology or art history, is highly regarded
