School of General Education and Languages
Major Duties:
The appointee shall report to the Head of the School of General Education and Languages (SGEL), work in a team and engage in the following duties:
Reporting to the Head of the School of General Education and Languages (SGEL), the appointee will engage in the following duties:
(a) Teaching English language modules and supporting students in achieving language proficiency and academic goals;
(b) Designing and preparing teaching materials with AI tools and new technologies;
(c) Organising interactive language activities, including workshops, seminars, study groups and study tours to enhance students’ language proficiency;
(d) Providing advice and language consultations to improve students’ communication skills;
(e) Assessing and evaluating student performance with constructive learning strategies;
(f) Providing administrative support services to the Centre for Learning Enhancement and the School; and
(g) Performing any other duties as assigned by the Head of SGEL and the senior management of the Institute.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised Master’s degree in English Language Education, Linguistics, TESOL or related disciplines;
(b) Proven experience in teaching and designing English language courses and materials;
(c) Ability to integrate technology and AI into language teaching;
(d) Experience in organising language activities/workshops/seminars to foster interactive learning environments;
(e) Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic academic team;
(f) Native or native-like English language proficiency; and
(g) Strong communication skills in Putonghua and Cantonese preferred.
Notes:
(1) The candidate(s) may be appointed on short-term appointment.
(2) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee(s) will work at the Chai Wan and Tsing Yi Campuses.
