Job Description
The Campus Development Office (CDO) is a professional office providing planning, funding liaison and project management for capital and AA&I projects to support The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s academic and research developments. CDO also conducts in-house feasibility studies, budget estimates, design and management services for spatial re-organisation and interior fitting out projects.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) preparing conceptual, detailed design, tender and record drawings for construction projects; (b) preparing technical feasibility studies; (c) preparing 3D imaging, graphic design, sample and drawing boards for presentation purposes; (d) carrying out site measurements/surveys/co-ordination; and (e) checking documents/drawings submitted by consultants/contractors for capital, AA&I and major renovation works.
Applicants should have (i) a Higher Diploma/ Higher Certificate in Building Studies, Graphic Design or equivalent disciplines from a recognised university or technical institute; (ii) at least 5 years’ post-qualification relevant work experience; (iii) solid experience and high proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit (BIM), Navisworks, SketchUp, Rhino, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and other commonly used computer drafting tools; (iv) practical experience in model making and 3D printing; (v) good knowledge of construction, government submissions, prevailing building regulations; and (vi) a strong sense of design to conceptualize ideas and bring to realization as 3D environments.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
