Job Description

The Enrolled Nurse is a vital member of the Early Intervention Services (EIS) team, responsible for delivering high-quality, client- and family-centred care to children living in residential or family-based settings. This position works in close collaboration with Registered Nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff to meet the medical and developmental needs of children under the care of Mothers Choice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to children in residential and family-based settings, in accordance with individual care plans and clinical guidelines.
- Support the medical needs of children under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Ensure safe preparation, administration, and storage of medication.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to support continuous improvement in care delivery.
- Assess children's health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and follow up with medical appointments.
- Promote and restore children’s health by collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, including the EIS team, to implement the nursing process.
- Maintain a hygienic environment and adhere to infection control policies and protocols to protect children, families, staff, and volunteers.
- Conduct routine health and development screenings for babies and children.
- Assess parenting skills and home situations, offer support as needed, and report findings to the EIS team.
- Provides educational and training on child care health and wellbeing to parents, families, staff, and volunteers.
- Maintain accurate and well-maintained records in electronic systems for all assigned clients, ensuring compliance with established guidelines by the EIS team.
- Adhere to SWD (Social Welfare Department) and Inspectorate requirements.
- Perform other ad-hoc related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Registered with HK Nursing Board with valid practicing certificate.
- Experience in pediatrics and residential child care service preferred.
- Have an understanding of early childhood development principles and practices.
- Have excellent communication skills and that includes liaising with families and our EIS team.
- Compassionate, courageous and committed to excellence.
- Keen to learn, good team worker but also able to work independently.
- Able to travel for home visits (but no overnight shifts required).
- Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English.
- Must share the commitment of Mother’s Choice in upholding the safety and protection of children as paramount.
