Test Engineer Lead (Automation & Performance Testing)

Job Description:

We seek an experienced Senior Test Engineer specialising in test automation and performance testing to join our Hong Kong team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, ensuring software quality across web and mobile apps.

This role requires strong technical expertise in Selenium, JMeter, CI/CD integration, and a deep understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts (UI/API) using Selenium (Python/Java), Postman, and Appium
• Conduct performance and load testing using JMeter/LoadRunner, analyse results, and identify system bottlenecks
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab)
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure testability, scalability, and reliability of applications
• Manage defect tracking and reporting using JIRA/Xray
• Mentor junior QA engineers and drive process improvements

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software testing (automation & performance)

• Strong proficiency in:

  • Test Automation: Selenium WebDriver, API testing (Postman/RestAssured)
  • Performance Testing: JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Database Testing: SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills (English /Mandarin required; Cantonese a plus)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in fintech, e-commerce, or high-traffic systems
• Knowledge of security testing (OWASP, Burp Suite)
• ISTQB/Agile certifications
• Familiarity with Hong Kong/global testing standards
