Job Description

OFFICE OF FACULTY OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Technical Support Assistant (Ref. 241209010-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) provide daily technical support to ensure the smooth operation of the Faculty Office and its laboratories;

(b) provide technical support to users on hardware and software issues;

(c) assist Faculty’s teaching staff in the usage of multimedia teaching and e-learning management system;

(d) update and maintain the Faculty Office’s website;

(e) provide support to the Faculty’s events and activities; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised associate degree, a higher diploma or a higher certificate in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines;

(b) have at least two years’ relevant post-qualification working experience;

(c) be proficient in computer applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

(d) be fluent in English and Chinese; and

(e) be proactive, self-motivated and hardworking in undertaking the day-to-day assigned duties.

Preference will be given to those with working experience in supporting IT services in tertiary institutions.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
