Job Requirements:
(a) Holder of a valid Registered Nurse practicing certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong or equivalent;
(b) A Bachelor Degree in nursing/ related discipline from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; Master degree or Post-graduate Diploma in nursing or related discipline together with recognized specialty qualifications would be an advantage;
(c) At least 5 years’ continuous post-registration experience in healthcare. Experience in oral health care would be an advantage;
(d) Holder of a certificate/diploma in infection control from recognized local institutes or professional bodies;
(e) Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
(f) Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(g) PC literate.
Major Duties:
(a) Formulate and implement Hospital-wide infection control protocol and policies and supervise the sterilization of instruments and autoclaving in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (“OMFS”) ;
(b) Lead a team of infection control nurses and Certificated Dental Surgery Assistants (“CDSA”) for hospital wide of infection control policies;
(c) Formulate, develop, implement and evaluate nursing procedures and standards and continue education programmes for nursing staff and staff under Central Sterile Supply Unit (“CSSU”) ;
(d) Manage the daily operation of CSSU including staffing, budgeting, sterile supplies logistics to ensure quality decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of supplies and equipment and oversees all functions related to decontamination, cleaning and sterilization of supplies and equipment;
(e) Supervise the team of Registered Nurses, Certificated Dental Surgery Assistants and staff under Central Sterile Supply Unit (“CSSU”) ;
(f) Provide advanced nursing care and assist in surgeries when necessary; and
(g) Monitor the logistic flow of drugs, implants, instruments, and inventories in OMFS Clinic and Queen Mary Hospital.
Package: Five-day week, 18 days’ annual leave and medical/ dental benefits. Successful candidate will be offered appointment at the entry point, MPS Point 26 ($59,110) per month with a two-year contract which is renewable, subject to satisfactory performance. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Hospital's contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
