Job Description
Scope:
Manage a team of 4 (Hong Kong and Shanghai) responsible for:
- Demand planning and forecasting (over 1,000 SKUs)
- Container booking and inventory flow optimization
- Achieve optimal inventory level by balancing healthy in-stock rates with maximized inventory turns
Process Improvement. Lead any initiatives to improve the demand planning process (e.g. implementing new forecasting methods or streamlining workflows)
Demand Planning & Forecasting:
- Review and validated weekly buy plans generated by the forecasting tool, adjusting accommodate the latest sales trends.
- Monitor sales trends closely, responding quickly with actions like placing additional purchase orders or suggesting shipment delays.
- Understand and maintained the forecasting tool, making necessary changes to improve forecasting accuracy.
Maintain key metrics including shipment lead times by port, production lead times, and replenishment levels for various product categories.
Logistics & Container Management:
- Supervise the Shanghai team on container booking, understanding market shipping rates and executing shipment approvals.
- Work closely with the US logistics team to ensure timely container receipt and return.
- Identify "hot containers" for prioritized unloading in the warehouse.
Participate in weekly calls with the US logistics team to discuss inbound and outbound volumes, review warehouse occupancy, and manage container flow accordingly.
Data Management & Reporting:
Collaborate with the BI team to maintain a clean database and support PBI report preparation for relevant areas.
Inventory Management:
- Identify aging inventory and coordinate with sales on action plans and review results
Provide regular inventory KPI reports for management review and implement improvement plans to achieve inventory targets
Desired Skills and Experience:
Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Experience: 5 years of experience with a focus on retail/FMCG/eCommerce is desirable.
Teamwork: Experience in managing a small team with proven track record
Soft Skills: Strong communication skill and team spirit
Workstyle: The ability to work independently, under pressure, and collaboratively
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and demand forecasting tools is necessary
Language Skills: Fluency in English and Chinese
- Candidate with more experiences will be considered as Senior Manager.
