IBM i(iSeries/AS400) Infrastructure - Specialist/Engineer

Our client is a major international bank. They are looking for a talented candidates as iSeries Specialist/Engineer Contractor to provide support and work in their IBM i(also called iSeries/AS400) infrastructure team to take responsibility for system administration, installation, configuration of system hardware and software on which critical banking systems are running.

Key Responsibility
 

• Implement and support the installation, configurations and administration of iSeries products
• Perform firmware, microcode, fix release on hardware or software products
• Provide support on infrastructure configuration, in-house utility setup, tape/backup setup for iSeries new system build
• Provide technical support and consultancy services to developers and users of iSeries environments
• Provide initial investigation on issue happened during system maintenance period
• Execute change ticket according to the technical requests
• Offer weekend support for planned change/monitoring activities onto iSeries systems
• Follow standard company best practice as laid out in internal procedures and design documents for the product and system and in accordance with general mandatory training when implementing new software / undertaking processes
   

 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalence
• 6-20+ years of experience in iSeries system/storage infrastructure administration, implementation and configuration
• Experiences in working with relevant stakeholders on hardware, software and security patching on iSeries platforms
• Experience in  working with global teams
• Rich knowledge and experiences in providing support on iSeries system platform/storage support including various iSeries system and storage technology.
• Experiences in providing support on running DR drills or onsite resilience switch-over on iSeries systems would definitely be an advantage.
