Embalmer II/III

The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) in CUHK Faculty of Medicine strives to nurture health professionals and the next generation of biomedical scientists to engage in research, entrepreneurship, and health services. 

We are looking for passionate and highly motivated candidates to join our Embalming Team in Dissecting Laboratory of SBS. 

The appointee will provide support to the operation of the Dissection Laboratory and Body Donation Programme. Duties include (a) preserving specimens and preparing prosected specimens; (b) providing support to teaching activities; (c) managing laboratory operation; and (d) providing assistance to the Body Donation Programme. 

Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE/HKDSE, including Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English (Syllabus B); and (iii) at least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification work experience in embalming or in a mortuary or related areas. Prior basic training in handling human bodies, and having basic knowledge of biology as well as computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) are preferred. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a test on handling human bodies. Applicants who do not fulfil the requirement in (ii) and (iii) above may be considered for appointment as Embalmer III.

Applicants must submit copies of HKCEE/HKDSE certificates showing that they have fulfilled the academic requirements as stated above, otherwise their applications will NOT be considered.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
