Building Surveyor (Contract)

Duty:

• To assist in checking building plans, and inspecting building works, including minor works and drainage works of private developments;
• To assist in checking documents/test reports in respect of applications for consent to commencement of works, certificates of completion of works and applications for occupation permits.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies, Building Surveying or Building Technology from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Polytechnic University, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute / college, or equivalent;
• Language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [Note(1)] ;
• a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience; and
• Preference will be given to candidates who possess relevant experience in the Buildings Department.

Note (1): Grade C and Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 3 and Level 2 respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth
