This role is based in Shenzhen office (with daily shuttle commuting from/to Hong Kong).
The Apparel Sample Room Manager plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between design concepts and production reality. This position is responsible for developing detailed construction plans and ensuring that garments are produced to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyze and interpret information from Tech Packs to create comprehensive workmanship construction plans for various garments.
2. Create detailed workmanship construction diagrams and maintain a library of these resources for future reference and use.
3. Define and oversee garment labeling requirements and ensure adherence to industry standards and client specifications.
4. Document process requirements and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all samples.
5. Collaborate with the merchandising teams to address and resolve technical challenges that arise during sample development.
6. Provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure samples meet client expectations and design specifications.
7. Lead the pattern /sewing and other sample team, to ensure all technical aspects of garment construction are understood and executed effectively.
8. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in garment construction techniques.
9. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve sample room operations and garment quality continually.
10. Drive efficiencies throughout the sampling process and identify ways to improve output and control.
11. Act as the key lead for all digitalization projects associated with the TDC (Technical Development Center).
CANDIDATE SPCIFICATION:
1. 10 years of experience in garment construction, ideally within a sample room or production environment, better with digitalization experience.
2. Strong understanding of technical garment engineering and production processes.
3. Ability to read and interpret Tech Packs and create detailed construction documentation.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
5. Advanced communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
6. Knowledge of industrial engineering principles as applied to garment production.
7. Proficiency in relevant software for creating construction diagrams and process documentation.
8. A degree in fashion design, textiles, or a related field is preferred.
