About the role

We seek a thoughtful and meticulous Accountant to join our growing team at LAAB Architects, a 50-strong, young, and innovative architectural design firm, to meet the needs of our expanding business. Immediate availability is preferred.

Our office is situated in a peaceful area of Sheung Wan, just off Hollywood Road, and we also run a cozy cafe (commaa) on-site.

In this full-time position, you will contribute to the smooth operation of our firm’s accounting functions.

The position title and final responsibilities will be discussed further based on the chosen candidate's experience and expertise.

What you'll be doing

• Perform full-set bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Handle month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial reporting.
• Assist in financial analysis, forecasting, and process improvements.
• Ensure timely and accurate data entry using Accounting Software (e.g., MYOB QuickBooks, Xero).
• Support ad-hoc finance tasks and projects as required.

What we're looking for

• Comfortable with our three office cats.
• Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-10 years of experience in full-set accounting and bookkeeping, preferably in an SME.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
• Experience in MYOB (preferred) or other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.).
• Capability in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
• High accuracy, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with colleagues, clients, and auditors.
• Honesty, proactive problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail.
• Immediate availability.
